The same values don't work appropriately when using the device as an EtherSwitch it seems because one of my CPU threads almost immediately maxes out and stays there. At the end, the emulator will display a list of possible values to pass to the -idle-pc option. The only issue left is when I want to make an EtherSwitch out of a device. Everything seems to work fine when I do so.
Ill continue scouring Google for answers, but if anyone here could provide some info itd be appreciated.

I know you said you are using GNS3 so you dont have the dynamips window up and running but I believe you can do that in the GNS3 GUI as well.
The machine I have GNS3 installed on is running Ubuntu 16.04. Run 'idlepc get router' where router is the name of your router instance in dynamips. I've searched to the best of my ability, finding no answers specific to my issue. I'm just starting to dive into GNS3 so forgive me if this is a common issue.
